Eddie Zuko, the 27-year-old Chicano rapper, drops a new single titled “Out of My Mind” featuring Vel the Wonder. “Out of My Mind” has bright, electric notes and easy listening rhythms, which makes Vel the Wonder’s feature so smooth and dynamic. The single adds a new hip-hop element to Zuko’s music, which is perfectly reminiscent of the Mexican, golden-coast landscape, considering the artist hails from the Californian city of Imperial. This single comes after his 2020 hit and later remix, “Caile” featuring Terrace Martin, adding to his Zuko Catalog, the artist’s music collection that can be found on his website. This catalog also includes Zuko’s first EP titled, El Zuko EP, a complete record of perfect kick-back songs.

Zuko’s style can only be described as the Chicano West coast experience—lively and filled with culture. Many of his lyrics include Spanish and English, where he mixes the two creatively and seamlessly. This mixture of language only adds to the references Zuko makes about the Chicano lifestyle—the rich food and family customs—all relating it back to his deeply personal experience of it all. This allows Zuko’s listeners to take in his environment with him, meaning that it not only creates authentic music but an authentic brand as well.
