Rising indie artist Winter announces her upcoming sophomore album, What Kind Of Blue Are You, out October 14 via Bar/None Records, with the incredibly catchy single “atonement (feat. Hatchie).” Built around a tubular bassline and uplifting breakbeat, the single features Winter’s voice soaring euphorically over a bed of reverberated guitar chords and an excellent feature from Hatchie, producing the type of track that begs to be replayed, and a chorus that’s bound to get stuck in your head.
Born and raised in Brazil but making her name musically in the Boston indie scene of the 2010s, Winter’s debut LP Endless Space (Between You & I) displayed her unique talent for drafting dream-pop landscapes. On her sophomore album, Winter’s sound is shifting more towards layered guitar chords and sample-Esque beats that bring out her voice, and with tracks like “atonement” and the slow-building “lose you,” it’s a project that indie fans will be sure to want to check out.
