Los Angeles MC NCognita made an appearance in the most recent episode of Issa Rae’s new HBO Max comedy series Rap Sh!t, marking the 21-year-old rapper’s first on-screen performance.
Earlier this year, NCognita released her major label debut EP, The Playbook, via Issa Rae’s Raedio Imprint on Atlantic Records. The stellar EP showed off her confidence and lyrical dexterity, including the hit “2X Freestyle (feat. Tundra),” along with its vibrant music video directed by Jonathan Benavente. She also showed off her skill with show-out freestyles on Bars On I-95 and Charlie Sloth’s Fire In The Booth.
In addition to new music and her appearance on “Rap Sh!t,” Ncognita is also a full-time college student at Loyola University New Orleans, which she documents balancing music and school in her latest vlog, “Nita Unfiltered: Dedicated Episode 2,” which can be viewed here.
New episodes of “Rap Sh!t” premiere on Thursdays on HBO Max.
