Singer-songwriter Vance Joy returns to the indie-pop music scene with the release of his new album, In Our Own Sweet Time, the multi-platinum artist’s third studio album.
Described as inventive and personal, Joy’s new album includes popular singles “Clarity” and “Missing Piece,” the latter receiving over 100 million streams due to its shareable success on TikTok.
In Our Own Sweet Time was majorly recorded during the pandemic lockdown, so themes of nostalgia, new memories, and finding love are fittingly present within its tracks.
“I’m always drawn to the idea of timelessness or that shared moment that takes you out of the chaos outside,” Joy said in a release. “If the world is crazy, you can retreat somewhere. It’s always hard to think of the right title but I think that sums up the album perfectly.”

With the album’s release, Joy also announced his upcoming 2023 North American tour, the In Our Own Sweet Time Tour. The tour is set to run through February and March next year, starting in Philadelphia on Feb. 7 and wrapping up in Washington, D.C. on March 25. Joy has seemingly gravitated toward smaller venues for this tour with music halls and opera houses being the primary settings.
