Ohtis Releases Glittery New Single “Schatze” Featuring Stef Chura

Ohtis, the musical combination of Sam Swimson, Adam Pressley, and Nate Hahn, release a new single titled “Schatze” featuring Stef Chura. The single from the trio follows their deluxe version of Cover of Earth album, which debuted in 2019. “Schatze,” mixed by Collin Dupuis (think Lana Del Rey and The Black Keys) follows a similar, genre-bending theme as its predecessor. But, where Cover of Earth gave us an indie-folk country, Ohtis’ new single produces a type of MGMT energy, and with Stef Chura’s vocals in the background, the combo is glittery and electric. Hannah Newman

Ohtis’ team describes the meaning of “Schatze” as, “...a character study of the Selfish Antisocial Male...told primarily through the lens of a long put-upon girlfriend —which Chura acts the part of—in a series of complaints about his objectionable behavior.”

When asked about her involvement, Chura notes, “I’ve always loved Ohtis and Curve of Earth is one of my favorite recent releases to come out, Sam is a rare songwriter. He speaks from an honest and dark place with a sincerity that I think is refreshing and deeply relatable.”

Ohtis’ “Schatze” is irresistible and seductive and hopefully an introduction to a soon-to-be new album on the way.
