Four-piece Nashville band Secondhand Sound released their new single “Dominoes” just this past week on May 7. The song beautifully blends bright distortion with a 90’s rock edge, accompanying the lyrics which tell the story of a late-night drive with a crush. “Dominoes” captures the feeling right before a first kiss, the buzz in your stomach, the excitement of taking a risk with someone you love. High-energy guitar lines layered with electrified drums makes for a full mind and body experience. “Dominoes” sounds like the feeling of falling in love and wanting to stay in that feeling forever.
Secondhand Sound -- composed of Collin Plank, Sawyer Estok, Teagan, and Cameron Schmidt -- has released previous singles/EPs, but feels that those songs weren’t entirely true to their artistic voice. More recently, however, Proctor says that “if you ask me about the music we’re writing now, I’d tell you it sounds like Secondhand Sound.” As the 20-21 year olds come into themselves and who they are as artists, their music is growing with them. Take one listen to “Dominoes” and you will understand the hope they find through creating music. For Secondhand Sound, the future is theirs for the taking.
