Zacari teams up with TDE labelmate Isaiah Rashad on his new single “Bliss,” a hard-hitting, Memphis-horrorcore-inspired beat that play to each of their strengths. Rashad’s flow fits like a glove with the tempo while Zacari’s angelic voice glistens above the massive 808s and subtle layers of haunting melodies. Combining a deep-cut Three6 Mafia track with a modern, eerie trap instrumental, “Bliss” exemplifies Zacari’s ability to hold down a bass-heavy banger. His propensity for softer, heartfelt melodies over smooth R&B cuts is well-established, especially on his debut Run Wild Run Free EP, and his most recent EP SOL. Coming off a recent collaboration with former Nuance cover artist BLXST–“Sometimes”– ”Bliss” marks Zacari’s first single of the year with a new, exciting sound.
Since their first between the two, the 2016 summer classic off The Sun’s Tirade–“Wat’s Wrong (feat. Zacari & Kendrick Lamar)” –Zacari and Isaiah Rashad are two of the TDE artists looked upon to carry the label through the rest of the decade with the departure of the other artist featured on that song. Zacari’s potential is evident and his buzz has been growing for years–especially since Kendrick Lamar brought him into the center of the limelight with his standout feature on “Love” from DAMN in 2017. With Isaiah Rashad’s The House is Burning holding down 2021, “Bliss” is hopefully a sign that Zacari is locked in on 2022.
