Last Friday, R&B artist Sebastian Mikael released a new music video for his single, “Exit,” which came out on August 28 and has accumulated almost 500,000 plays on Spotify alone.
The song itself rolls over a stripped down guitar and bass driven instrumental, but the layers and layers of vocal tracks and voice clips give the song a certain depth beyond the instruments. His airy falsetto and precise backing vocals act as instruments themselves as they deliver the chorus “won't take no for an answer cuz this love is forever.” As a whole, “Exit” matches the tone that we have grown accustomed to coming from Sebastian Mikael, the same tone that has gained him a strong following and recognition from many of the large names in the industry. Expect to see the name Sebastian Mikael a lot more in the coming months.
“’Exit’ is about a breakup I went through two years ago. I was feeling really lonely and felt like I had dropped the ball by leaving so I was destined to get my shit together so I could give her what she deserved. We ended up getting back together. The writing process behind this song was very therapeutic and I really feel like people will be able to relate and appreciate the transparency.” -Sebastian Mikael on the writing process to his single, “Exit” (via Warner Records)
