It’s been a long time coming. I know it, you know it, and they know it. We finally got our website up AND we finally get to gloat about the band Three Star Revival. We’ve been trying to get these guys into the magazine for a full calendar year, so they should get the inaugural blog post for The Nuance Magazine.

I first got a chance to listen to these guys back in early 2018 at the infamous Barleys in Old City Knoxville. It was more than a great show. It was as authentic as authentic can get and the 5 piece band gave everyone in the audience a reason to Move a Little Bit. The band is powered by excellent guitar, keys, and strong vocals (but boy do the other guys do more than enough to make a complete package). They may have gotten their start as a bar jam band but evolved into much, much more. They played Bonnaroo 2019 for lord’s sake, so you know the guys are worth their salt.

Their most recent single Left on Read screams commercial success is coming their way. The song opens with the hook “Baby I can’t see the last thing you said, Why’d you have to go and leave me on read”. A fitting hook for 2019 because of how relationships with the significant others incorporate games via text messages. The sound is more modern than their traditional jams, but it’s tasteful. The synth tones lead the melody that could be a groove in a bar, a hookah lounge, or in the car on a night drive home. The guitar seamlessly pulls you along with almost a tone of old school rock but doesn’t detract from the spacey vibes of the hook and melody. It’s well done, and we look forward to watching these guys grow and evolve. They’ve got some upcoming dates for everyone that’s in the south:

  • Saturday, Nov. 16th @ High-Tone Café, Memphis

  • Thursday, Nov. 21st @ The Basement East, East Nashville

  • Friday, Nov. Dec 13th @ The Camel, Richmond

  • Friday, Dec. 20th @ Aisle 5, Atlanta

I highly suggest checking out one of their shows if you are in the area before they become successful because the ticket prices to your new favorite band will surely be astronomical. Expect new music from these guys soon! We hope you liked the tunes and check back soon with more from The Nuance Magazine.
