Hey Nuance Peeps. We are excited to announce that we are Coronavirus free tonight because we did the right thing: stayed indoors, drank wine, and found an incredibly talented band that we MUST share with you. If they are not already on your radar then you need to go ahead follow Avant Garden Records' newest signee, Chiiild, on every single social media and music channel you have at your dispense. You will not be disappointed by the aesthetic or the sound that will surely stimulate the soul.
Speaking of soul, their debut album is titled, Synthetic Soul. For a debut album, it is an absolute JAM that'll be leaving you begging for more after the 22-minute rollercoaster ride. They are climbing the ranks of an artist to know and deservedly so. They'll be playing Okechobe Fest this Sunday, Gov Ball in June, and opened for Emotional Oranges last fall on their European Tour.
Synthetic Soul was released on February 28th of this year after the release of four singles. Their lead-off single Count Me Out also doubles as the first track on the album. The song has a great melody and mantra backed by the hook that sings, "Don't count me out cause I'll come back" followed by the reverberating words, "Swinging, Swinging". It's not only relatable but with the company of harmonic Synth and Strings, it is 100% a jam that starts the album off with a bang.
The second song is called Back to Life. This song feels almost spiritual because of all the dark tones in the synth contrasting with an uplifting bridge and lyrics straight out of a 21st-century hymnal. The lyrics here are outstanding and again relatable to our human struggle with identity and existence of self and God.
Next is Hands Off Me. This song is where the bass really hits you and is paired with a violently passionate guitar hook. This might be one of the most emotional tracks on the album, and then the outro that lets you sit and think about all the emotions the band just stirred up in your head.
After this is Darling, the love letter to the better half. What better way to send a love letter to a better half with dreamy guitar and keys to, "You are the best of me darlin"? Frankly, we don't know, but if you find out leave a comment.
Coming in at number five on the album is the song Pirouette. This song is total magic and when you hear the guitar melody sing out on your speakers you will absolutely be putting this one on repeat. A pirouette is also a ballet move, and it is a perfectly titled song that will have you dancing as well.
Sunday Morning is the 6th song on the album and sounds just like the title. Bass and keys to fill the space of 3 minutes with delicious grooves that'll have you dancing around the house in between that Sunday morning sunshine and cup of coffee.
The final song on the tape, Easy On Yourself, is an absolutely perfect ending to the ride you just took. The title and song are reminders to take it easy on yourself and that'' everything will be okay. That soul and life are going to be just fine, all the way up until the very end.
