Nashville based singer-songwriter Kayla Hall shared her new single “Nice To Meet You” at midnight. She wrote the song alongside Katie Forbes and co-produced it with Andrew Pacheco.
“Nice To Meet You” includes a minute and a half long intro detailing a romantic relationship Inspired by personal prose. “There was something about the period of my life surrounding August 2018. It was one of the more complex, magical times in my life. I feel like since then, nothing about my life or art has been the same.”
This is Hall’s first release of the new year following her October single “Villian” with her band Moody Joody.
Kayla Hall on her new song “Nice To Meet You”: “Nice To Meet You unfolded between August and September, written in a series of texts immediately following events happening in my life. I remember texting Kaitie Forbes around that time that what I was experiencing felt like it was straight out of a fucking movie. Nice To Meet You is the first of fourteen, and definitely the perfect introduction for me as an artist but for this project as a whole. The lyrics, the idea & the feelings were so simple, but my producer Andrew Pacheco captured the magic of the emotions I felt at that time. Andrew would put 1980’s Valley High School Prom videos in the background during vocals and production. This one is so special to me.”
