Nuance Readers! We’ve got Punk Ballad from an artist we’ve had our eye on since the NYC show we caught at the Mercury Lounge: PLVTINUM.

The artist has a catalog filled with beachy dance vibes but has recently seen some change in direction we didn’t expect with his previous single with Rich and Sadfeaturing Xuitcasecity. This new one,Girls On The Internetblends the old PLVTNIUM with the growing artist that has definitely developed his own lane. The release also features another talented artist, Lil Aaron, who has written/ collaborated with current industry trenders like Selena Gomez and Lizzo.

The song opens with soft, melodic keys and PLVTINUM going straight in on those girls from the internet with the songs pre-chorus, “Honestly, these girls are barely human, fake smile, fake lips” and you immediately resonate with him because you’ve seen those types of girls.

Lil Aaron comes in right after to voice his equal concern with these Instagram girls pretending to be something they aren’t, but falling for the trap regardless. By the end of his lyrical spill, the song then drops with Plvtinum coming back in with the Pre-Chorus and Chorus over a trap style bassline and drum section.

PLVTINUM follows this up with his own verse. Agreeing with Lil Aaron about the sentiment for these girls constantly flexing on the twitter machine, but not really about it in real life. Yet, for some reason they find themselves circling back to those types of girls.

The ballad is spot on with what we all kind of go through on the internet, male or female. We see something that totally grabs us, but in real life falls short of those internet expectations. By the end of the ballad, the music, melodies, and message will have you singing “I need to stop fucking with girls on the internet”.
