KUNZITE Takes a Trip with GRLSRWL in New Single Video "FROSTY"

On May 21, the psychedelic duo KUNZITE dropped their newest single “FROSTY” along with a video featuring the skate-crew GRLSRWL. “FROSTY” follows previous singles from KUNZITE such as “JUPITER,” “SATURN,” and “NOVAS,” all leading up to the sonic album VISUALS to be released later this summer. As is true for all their music, KUNZITE creates a cosmic atmosphere through “FROSTY,” making for the perfect summer song. The single begins with a low bass beat, slowly accelerating and building until it climaxes into a perfect groove. The low-fi, psychedelic sound is made for coasting on hazy, summer days.

KUNZITE also released a music video to accompany the track, featuring the women-founded, all-inclusive skate collective GRLSRWL. Filmed in Venice Beach, CA, the visuals reflect the warm and sunny vibe of the single and make a poignant message through the feature of GRLSRWL. The skate-crew shows the beauty of female strength, mobility, and companionship, featuring skateboarders, surfers, and roller skaters, a sport that has its roots in Black culture. The inclusive and diverse video shows that KUNZITE makes music for the people. As we anxiously await the release of their upcoming album VISUALS, we can sit back, relax, and enjoy the musical journey of “FROSTY.”
