Genesis Owusu returns with a new pop-funk remix of “Don’t Need You” featuring Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins. Mick Jenkins’ feature brings a new depth to the song that rounds out Genesis Owusu’s sound and creates the perfect balance of smoothness and bounce. Their flow is great for just vibing in your room or jumping around at a party (post-COVID 19 - of course) as they give us a catchy, noisy, upbeat rhythm with dark undertones while still keeping the overall mood of the song more fun.

This song follows Genesis Owusu’s 2021 debut album Smiling with No Teeth. 2021 has already been a big year for Genesis Owusu not only because of the amount of music he has released but also for the recent attention it has received. His music has received attention from popular music sources such as HypeBeast, Complex, NPR Music, The Fader, MTV, and more. Many recognize him for his ability to layer multiple genres into one project, and we hope to see more of his complex, unique sound in the months to come.
