Following the release of their upcoming EP Ooooo, the Charleston surf rockers Easy Honey will embark on their Summer “Surf Tour” for 6 weeks up the East Coast. Along with performing the slew of new music coming from their EP and the several breakoff singles sprinkled into their Spotify page over the past few months, the band will also be teaming up with local Surf Communities and Nonprofit Organizations to host several Beach Clean-ups along the way.
“Because of our care for our home i.e. the world and its environment, We’ll be teaming up with local environmental groups and surf shops to do clean-ups at their respective beaches. All of course while playing Classic EH tunes and road testing a bunch of brand new material... We will be bringing our boards for the entirety of the tour and want to meet up with you!” - From Easy Honey’s Instagram upon official announcement.
While Easy Honey has grown a lot in the past year, evolving through relentless touring and creating in the studio back in Charleston, their story goes back quite a bit farther than their more recent buzz suggests.
The band met almost five years ago at Sewanee, a small liberal arts college in the mountains of Tennessee, when Selby and Darby began writing and playing songs together in Academic building basements. They picked up Charlie along the way, playing frat shows and at the local bars every weekend.
By the time they reached graduation, they had decided a change of scenery was apt for further developing their sound in their new home of sunny Charleston, SC. Their music has that perfect mix of welcomed familiarity and ‘I’ve never heard this before.’ After adding Selby’s brother Webster to the mix, the band started to hit the road heavily in their first year of touring in 2022, where they logged about 120 shows to grow their live audience and spread the mountain surf vibes all over the country.
With lots of new music coming down the road and a coastal tour to promote it, there will be plenty of opportunities to get to know the young Appalachian surfers. If you can’t catch them on any of the dates below, they will be keeping their fans in the loop on their socials and releasing a mini-documentary of the tour once they reach the finish line. Whether you catch them in person or follow them online, 2023 will be the summer of great surfing and even better music.
