BLXST & Bino Rideaux Team Up Again with "Movie" Music Video off of their Upcoming Sixtape 2

Two of LA’s most promising young artists, BLXST & Bino Rideaux, gear up for their second collaborative project, Sixtape 2, with a new music video for “Movie” that does the track’s title justice. The video’s over four-minute intro feels like a mini-movie introducing the hilarious world of “All Washed Up Car Wash” as Bino Rideaux gets his buddy BLXST a job. The video’s cast, especially the manager, are fantastic and leave us wanting more from this storyline as BLXST and Bino proceed to turn their first day together into a block party. The intro matches the song’s feel-good summertime vibes as BLXST and Bino Rideaux lay down smooth melodies over a wavey guitar-centric instrumental, both artists right inside their west coast pocket.

The duo has propelled into mainstream success since their first collaboration Sixtape in 2019, each dropping successful debut album’s last year with BLXST’s No Love Lost and Bino Rideaux’s Outside which have flung them right into the center of the west coast’s rap scene with BLXST being named a 2021 XXL Freshman and Bino being praised by Billboard as one of the “6 LA Rappers to Watch in 2021.” Visuals like “Movie” reveal BLXST and Bino to be just as comfortable and charismatic on camera as they are behind the mic, building on the foundation of LA’s rapper-turned-actor tradition to manifest their own cinematic visions that stretch the creative boundaries of rap music videos like BLXST’s multi-part visual series for No Love Lost. This propensity to push their creative boundaries to fully realize their song’s west coast portraits are what makes BLXST and Bino Rideaux two of the most exciting rising LA hip-hop artists for years to come, but for the moment Sixtape 2 is set for release on July 16 and looks to be exactly the good time party vibes for any summer playlist.
