Ben Chandler Drops Summery Single “Anything”

By Andrew Stahl

The dominant mood of Ben Chandler’s music seems to be: Everything will be alright. On his previous single “Young Mistakes,” he made a song about growing through messing up irresistibly poppy. He continues with that reassuring vibe on “Anything,” saying of the song and video: “The video is a representation of how love is a universal language. No matter who you are, who you love, and what you love, there’s always somebody out there that will love you for you. This song and video is all about doing what you can for that person you hold dearly to your heart. I hope everyone can see that.”

“Anything” is addressed to Chandler’s beloved, and the video cuts between images of Chandler’s relaxed singing and four couples set against colorful backgrounds, including Chandler and the person he is singing for.

A breezy guitar line carries the song through its hackneyed lyrics, but, luckily, Chandler knows this and wastes no time getting to the chorus. And when the weather is nice and the vibes this good, who cares? “Anything” is as ephemeral as the season it is meant for.
