Meet Ash Leone, music's latest confessional, acoustic, and R&B singer-songwriter. She wrote her first songs at 15. Her first live show was in middle school when she covered a Lauryn Hill song. Independently released, Ash Leone's new 6-track EP Blue Phase punched lazy lovers in their guts on March 18, 2020. Her tenor disarmed the stoic. She had the right ear for threaded production that made up the hip-hop, country, and pop-informed music.
Minimalistic guitar licks and bright white synths were hard to differentiate once her airy, pained vocals took the lead, wrestled them down to catchy sing-a-longs. Flowing, her Philadelphia background instilled hip-hop sensibilities. Her time in Nashville contributed to the country flair her vocal track at moments thrived on. Thanks to her Los Angeles days and nights, her inner pop sugar exploded as she delivered a stadium-worthy, booming chorus to close the EP.
