Paolo Nutini releases 2 new tracks, “Acid Eyes” and “Petrified in Love,” off his upcoming album Last Night in the Bittersweet, to be released on July 1st.
This will be Nutini’s 4th album, and two prior have reached #1 on UK music charts while garnering over 1.5 billion streams globally.
The two songs off the album that have already been released tell us that this album will follow in the footsteps of the previous ones. “Acid Eyes” is a striking song about love and regret. It has the lyricism and style of Bon Iver with the emotive energy of a Ben Howard song–fans of them definitely need to check out Paolo Nutini.
His stylistic range is impressive, and he pulls that off while still staying true to his unique sound and musical identity. “Petrified in Love” is a modern love song, but it sounds like it belongs in a Jukebox. It’s upbeat and fun, while still expressing genuine and complex emotions.
Last Night in the Bittersweet travels from classic rock to post-punk to hypnotic Krautrock. The album is available for pre-save now and the UK and European tour dates have been announced.
