Rising R&B singer-songwriter IV JAY is back with a new single, “Gemini Rising,” her second track of 2022, sharing a “soft spot for geminis in the synthy new song.” The single is produced by Shy Boogs and is available now via So Amazin’ Entertainment and Atlantic Records.
“Gemini Rising” shows IV entering “a new sound of magical synths in this a coming-of-age love song representing ‘love for someone who isn’t good for you but continues to draw you in.’”
The release of her new single follows “Good Karma,” a “deeply personal LGBTQ love song” which came out back in May. The two singles serve as previews of her new project, which is due later this year. In 2021, IV JAY released the acclaimed “Vibrate (feat. Pink Sweat$)” and “Got Me Insane.”
Teen Vogue describes her as indescribable. They wrote, “there aren’t many young artists that truly embody the word ‘prodigy,’ but there’s really no other way to describe IV JAY… Think Kelela-meets-SZA—You’re guaranteed to fall in love.”
