About

NUANCE IS a multimedia company that curates trends in music, style, and art particularly in the underground and independent scene. At Nuance, we recognize the struggle that young artists and creatives go through when trying to turn their passion into their career, so we strive to give a platform for talented but underexposed artists to share their work with a greater audience WHILE GIVING THE ARTIST THE BEST REPRESENTATION OF THEMSELVES. We invest in the individuals who we really believe can make a difference in the future of the industry. In short, we are constantly shaping what's next.

OUR MISSION

To PROVIDE YOUNG ARTISTS AND CREATIVES WITH THE TOOLS, PLATFORM, AND NETWORK TO GROW THEIR AUDIENCE AND TAKE THEIR ART TO THE NEXT LEVEL IN THEIR CAREERS.

  • TOOLS: WITH OUR CREATIVE LABEL AND SERVICES, WE HELP ARTISTS ROUND OUT AND BUILD UP EVERY ASPECT OF THEIR ART AND PUBLIC IMAGE.

  • PLATFORM: OUR DIGITAL MAGAZINE AND NEWSROOM FOCUS ON PROMOTING YOUNG, DESERVING, YET UNDEREXPOSED ARTISTS AND CREATIVES AROUND THE WORLD.

  • NETWORK: THE NUANCE MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS BOTH ARTISTS AND CREATIVES BY PROVIDING ADVERTISING AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH OUR WEBSITE AND EVENTS.

OUR STORY

NUANCE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED IN NASHVILLE IN 2020 AS A PRINT AND DIGITAL MAGAZINE FEATURING LOCAL UP AND COMING ARTISTS AND CREATIVES. AS MANY OF THE ARTISTS THAT WE FEATURED BEGAN TO BLOW UP SOON AFTER OUR FEATURE, WE PROVED OUR TASTE TO OUR AUDIENCE, SHOWING THAT WE DO, IN FACT, SHAPE WHAT IS NEXT IN THE MUSIC AND CREATIVE INDUSTRY. AFTER A YEAR OR SO OF MAKING MAGAZINES, WE REALIZED THAT OUR CALLING TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT SMALL ARTISTS AND CREATIVES COULD EXPAND BEYOND A SMALL DIGITAL MAGAZINE. IN 2022, WE BEGAN TO RESTRUCTURE AND REORGANIZE, LAUNCHING PROJECTS SUCH AS OUR MEMBERSHIP AND CREATIVE LABEL THAT FURTHERED OUR ABILITY TO SUPPORT ARTISTS AND CREATIVES. NOW, WHILE WE STILL OFFER COLLECTORS PRINT MAGAZINES AND DIGITAL LOOK BOOKS, OUR FOCUS AND SCOPE HAS GROWN TO INCLUDE CREATIVE SERVICES, MERCH LINES, VIDEO SERIES, AND A NETWORK OR ARTISTS AND CREATIVES WHO CONSISTENTLY SHAPE THE FUTURE OF THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY.

Our Team

Edwin Keeble IV: founder, creative director

Edwin Keeble IV

Edwin Keeble IV is from Sewanee, TN, and has a B.S. in Communication with a focus in Visual Communication and a minor in Cinema Studies from the University of Tennessee. Influenced by his family background in design and music, Edwin has always had a passion for the two but never imagined them together. The son of a music producer and an artist, Edwin was naturally raised as a musician that always chased his artistic endeavors. Realizing in college that being involved with the music industry and artist development was truly what he wanted to, he found himself at a school with very little opportunity for a foot in the door of the industry. As a non-music major and switching from design school to journalism, Edwin’s passions seemed to be on hold for the foreseeable future. Influenced by his aunt Keiza’s career in the magazine industry, he became interested in magazine cover designs. What became an arising passion quickly turned into a music magazine when he contacted his good friend Brendan at college to help him start it. Slater Goodson, Edwin’s childhood friend, was soon brought into the picture as a key player in Nuance, connecting with artists and creating the bulk of the magazine’s content.

After graduating from the Film Program at Belmont University, he started gaining recognition for the music videos he directed and shot in the Nashville area. Assembling a team through his involvement around Nashville, Slater quickly rose to success and expanded his work out to Los Angeles. Slater uses his influence in the music industry to connect artists and creatives that would benefit from the exposure and fit the cultural vibe we work to create. Slater also runs his own production company based in Nashville.

Music has always been a part of his life as he played and performed with several musical groups, ranging in genres from classic rock to hip hop. He has also shared the love of visual art, taking multiple upper-level film production classes and working on an independent documentary for three years. Charles applies all three of his passions to the magazine, helping to produce only the highest level content.

Oliver Heffron

Oliver Heffron: editor in Chief

Oliver is an editor and writer from Los Angeles, who graduated from The University of the South with a BA in English and a Certificate in Creative Writing. Oliver started working with nuance as an intern in 2020, then went on to write the cover articles for issues 001, 003, and 004 along with many others online and in print. His dedication to his craft and to the company earned him the position of co-editor in chief alongside hunter. In his free time, Oliver writes fiction and makes beats on his laptop, reminding himself how difficult it is to make music.

casey willis: COO, Head of Accounts

Casey Willis is from Sewanee, TN and graduated with a B.S. in Business Management from Edgewood college in Madison, WI. Music, sports and friendships were always the center points in Casey’s life, playing baseball in college and continuing to make music on the side for fun. After graduating, when the opportunity arose to create a career combining his love of music and his close friends, he joined the team. With his business knowledge, Casey aims to help the company grow and expand in order to reach more artists who set trends and shape the culture, and more readers who want to see a new kind of magazine.
