Rising bedroom pop/rap artist, Willy P, is releasing his eighth EP titled, Moon Child, on February 8th. Willy P and his Good Friends and Company introduce his creative history as the artist who, “started making music in his dorm room during his freshman year of college. He writes, records, mixes, and masters all of his own music in his apartment.” Currently, Willy P, the one-man-band, attends the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he opened for popular American rapper, MadeinTYO, at Boulder Welcomefest, giving him opportunities to also open for hip-hop artists Larry June and Cal Scruby.

Moon Child follows Willy P’s recent 2020 album, Take a Trip, a perfect name for exactly what it is: a collection of slow, almost trip-hop tracks. Willy P’s sound is near-reminiscent of Still Woozy energy—psychedelic and relaxing—yet the sound is entirely different and new. Moon Child subtly includes hints of disco-type beats, solo bedroom dance-worthy tracks, “Own It (PROD. Alex R. Catalog)” being an immediate road-trip hit example. On the other side, it’s also the kind of EP that can make any listener lay in bed and stare at the ceiling in a soul-sucking trance—all due to the power of instant foot-tapping melodies. Moon Child releases on all streaming platforms on February 8th, and hopefully, it will only be accompanied by future musical endeavors from Willy P.
