Healy is back and better than ever with a new track accompanied by a vintage style music video for new single “Second Wind” he dropped last week. Featuring a soothing guitar, a Lofi hip/hop beat, and a relaxing summer vibe that he has branded himself with over the years, Healy brings a beautiful example of the artistic and creative process truly being enjoyed and perfected rather than rushed and forced. “Still just doing this for the hell of it” reminds listeners of how he approaches music, an attitude rarely seen in the industry; while the fun and creativity of music can be lost with many artists, Healy has proven with his patience time and time again that he won’t stray from it. Consistency being a staple in his music and vibe, Healy delivers yet another memorable and well-seasoned melody with skillful rapping in the chorus: “Call it a comeback or call it a second wind,” which refers to his long awaited drop that was well worth the wait. Fans have even more reason for excitement with the line “this is a moment, this is momentum” which possibly references a project on the way.

“Second Wind” is just the stepping stone from his most recent musical drop from 2020, “Nikes On,” gaining momentum to propel himself into the spotlight, and to show he is back with more hot tracks. In the ending scene of the video, the words “Coming of Age” pan across the screen, which has caused fans to speculate that this will be the title of an upcoming album. At closer listen, Healy’s lyrics make you think about yourself introspectively through words grounded in personal experience and reality that inspire and instill hope in listeners. This is nothing new for Healy, as his infinitely clever and thoughtful lyrics have always proven to go below surface level with a little digging.

The video gives off a vintage vibe through sunsets, colors, subtle editing, and filming style, along with old cars that are consistent in previous music videos. All shot in one parking lot with multiple cars, the video features Healy cruising around in a Delorean at low speeds to match the leisurely pace of the beat and song. Using deep voice effects adds an extra layer to the sound and in moderation, builds a stronger sound to the already impeccable track. Still deserving more exposure and listeners, he sticks to his sound and what he’s built himself on and all of it should come in due time. Healy, the fun-loving and good vibe artist creates another flawless track with a simplistic masterpiece of a music video, and speaking for everybody, we can’t wait to see where he goes from here.
