Melancholy overtones with lyrics grounded in heartbreak and reality, Peter Manos dropped his new and first EP Do You Turn Red? perfect for getting in the feels for a stormy night listen. Although it only features a few new songs as most of the feature tracks were pre released as singles, as a collective, the project contains an immaculate sound. With simple but powerful instrumentals headlining synths, pianos, and guitars, Peter Manos uses his exceptional voice, relatable and hard hitting lyrics, and bewitching harmonies to set a mood and bring listeners into his mind. Utilizing his branded ability to skillfully craft pleasing melodies paired with colorful and artistic instrumentals creates an irresistible sound.

In standout track “At Night” Peter Manos flaunts his vocal range through mind blowing harmonies, somber lyrics, and a gloomy but rather soothing sound headlined by a twangy guitar track. This is a track anyone going through a separation or heartbreak can relate to with the hook “I don’t really miss you when I think about it/But I miss you at night.” Everyone knows that feeling-- keeping someone out of sight and out of mind all day until laying in bed and those thoughts of a certain someone begin to consume the mind-- Peter Manos captures that feeling in a bottle and exposes it on a haunting track. Most of the song is centered around the hook but transitions into a rock song through a punk-style drum track complemented by his flashy falsetto.

The final track of the EP “In My Head” is his first ever released song from 2017 making a reappearance on the new project and hitting harder the second time around. It suits the vibe of the EP perfectly and rounds it out with calming vocals and an underwhelming and bleak piano instrumental that captures an abundance of emotions. “I know you’ve changed, you have a different face to me/ I guess that I was wrong I’m the one to blame,” these words cut deep and open up a flood of emotions. Just a few lines of this extremely emotional song about holding on too long to someone even through their changes will have you thinking about a relationship you never even had.

All across the board Do You Turn Red? grasps emotions and heartbreak feelings and puts them into words to experience on a deep level. Peter Manos, despite his short discography, strikes gold in his first full length project.
