Happy Nuance Friday! We hope you enjoyed the long weekend festivities and fireworks. Still, another week is in the books, and those Bluetooth speakers at the function aren’t going to DJ themselves. Thankfully, this week we’ve got some exciting new tunes from new faces and old friends, so start the BBQs again because the summer is starting to really begin.
AntsLive – “Ooh La La”
London’s hottest new rapper AntsLive continues his run of impeccable music videos this year with new single “Ooh La La,” taking to the iconic streets of Paris with director Tom Emmerson to slow-ride in vespas, win some pétanque, and most of all, wingman his grandfather on a romantic evening.
Following up the two’s collaboration on “Number One Candidate,” which made an early claim for best video of the year back in January, “Ooh La LA” proves the artist/director duo to be one of the most exciting in music right now as Emmerson artfully translates AntsLive’s tough-in-cheek charisma over room-shaking 808s into grand, cinematic, and hilarious scenes.
SYREETA – RENNI BES
London DJ/producer SYREETA releases her debut EP RENNI BES–an enrapturing introduction to the HE.SHE.THEY. resident’s ambitious electronic vision with the percussive, frequency-bending tech-house hedonism of “Renni Bes” and empowering gospel of “Seek.”
Quarters of Change – “What I Wanted”
New York City alternative band Quarters of Change released the new single “What I Wanted” via Elektra Records. The first release since their acclaimed debut album Into the Rift, the single sees the band explore a distorted shoegaze sound.
Johnny Yukon – “Whispers”
Rising singer-songwriter-producer and longtime friend of Nuance Johnny Yukon shares glistening new single “Whispers,” the most recent in a slew of quality releases including “Gloria !” and “Do You Feel It?”
Femi Tahiru – “The First Time I Got High”
