Moko’s new eight-track EP, 48, Pt. 1, champions the rising star’s grand return to London’s music scene and further solidifies him as a force to be reckoned with.
Layering a blend of soothing R&B soundscapes and hard-hitting rap beats with laid-back vocals, 48, Pt. 1 is a thoroughly produced body of work, which testifies to Moko’s versatility as an artist; one of the most thrilling parts about the EP is that Moko’s perspective shrines through, allowing the project to take on a really multi-dimensional direction.
The EP’s opener, “Gleem,” and its infectious successor, “Shameless,” unveil a new version of Moko’s artistry, one that his new listeners might not be familiar with just yet. Both tracks offer an in-depth look into his inner thoughts and feelings, such as jealousy, determination, and strength.
The official music video for “Gleem” sees Moko embark on a really intriguing visual journey, inviting the audience to get to know him in a more personal way. “Back2Roadz,” the last track off 48, Pt. 1, continues exploring Moko’s strength, however, through somewhat of a different lens — with fiery lyrics confirming and punchy melodies providing a banger finish to a banger record.
Moko’s elusive presence puts him in a league of his own. And, with a number of exceptional releases under his belt, it’s really exciting to see what’s next for him.
