Joe Keery's Djo Gets Strange on "Change"
Written by: David Williams
Joe Keery is a man of many skills his most famous talent is that of capturing the hearts of many viewers on the visually stunning and enthralling Netflix series Stranger Things, but did you know the guy can also hold his own in the indie musical realm?
Djo is the solo project of the television star returning with his first single “Change” from his upcoming LP DECIDE. The song is a fun, quirky genre-splitting record giving off vibes of letting loose on the dancefloor in a nightclub without a care in the world.
His debut album TWENTY TWENTY surprised a lot of people who are unfamiliar with Joe’s musical talent—with the vintage quality sound mixed in with some quick-witted lyrics, made for a blended variety that you could see his character Steve Harrington tapping his foot and whipping those wonder locks around dancing to at a high school party in the popular series.
If you want to dress like a Scoops Ahoy employee during one of his shows knock yourself out, but just be prepared for mind-bending music that will have you moving your body uncontrollably.
Djo’s forthcoming sophomore studio album DECIDE is out on September 16th. You can also catch him on live playing at major festivals Lollapalooza & ACL this year in support of his record.
