Jaah SLT Drops Mind Warping Video for “Same Me”
By Will Mossa
“Another god damn mother fucking musical masterpiece by Jaah SLT. Video by Mack.” reads the screen as an ominous piano and thunderous 808 fill the intro of new single “Same Me” by Jaah SLT. This couldn’t be more accurate for the Charlotte, North Carolina native dropping a Nuance certified banger accompanied by a mind twisting visual.
Zooming into a static television screen placed as someone’s head brings center stage in a warehouse and on train tracks with transitions into a surreal scenery similar to an oil painting that has acid trip written all over it. As the song continues the TV-head friend of Jaah’s is used creatively to display words, and he continues to stay in the video for its entirety. The main idea of the track is Jaah SLT reminding his haters that his certain rise to stardom won’t change him and he is still the same man and artist he always has been. The standout bars of the verse being “Words don't hurt me, sh*t can't faze me/F*ck you n****s sayin', I swear you don't know me" and “I ain’t ever change and I swear you don’t know me” is a direct callout to all of his doubters and shows his confidence he’ll never change and his haters opinions will not phase him. Although the beat and lyrics are simplistic, Jaah SLT sets fire to the track with a catchy chorus and authentic flow. This short two minute track has enough power to shake a car, room, or house and is surely a song that has “Mo Bamba” party-track potential for the coming year. The crisp and defined visual filled with panoramic views and constantly changing barren landscapes will fascinate viewers while the short clips of extremely detailed psychedelic and abstract backgrounds will hypnotize you for short bursts. Being next up in the mainstream rap niche, Jaah SLT has already had a taste of fame with previous track “Tuff” and is going the extra mile to prove his consistency and ability to make banger after banger. Jaah SLT is one of those artists who is on the brink of becoming an icon in the industry and is at the time of his game. Listening to the song alone doesn’t fully do him justice as the video to accompany it is a definite hidden treasure, both fully recommended to check out. If you haven’t jumped on his train already, “Same Me” should be your ticket to board.
