Tim Gent released his new EP In Every Fall last Friday. The Nuance Team was able to have an interview with him this week.

  1. You just released your EP In Every Fall, what is your favorite track off of it and why?“A New Day” would have to be my favorite joint on the tape. The track will be my first TV appearance, airing on ESPN all of June. I also just love the beat and it has one of my favorite lines: “If you see your brother wounded, go and grab the bandages. Number one sin is hate and when somebody else advances on this planet, gotta be Iverson w the handle. Gotta get high or get left in the spur of the moment like you Manu.. it’s a new day”. I love it haha.

  2. “What I Think Of pt. 2” is filled with emotion and passion, what’s the story and message behind it?That’s definitely an emotional piece. The first installment of “What I Think Of” is on one of my previous projects titled ‘Trials of Hulio’. In that version I just really pour out a lot of raw thoughts pertaining to a girl I really cared about. So in Part 2 I do the same concerning some things that transpired with my family. Basically, some dramatics and betrayal affected one of my kid brother’s health. We could let it get us off track and forget the goal, but we won’t. We’re going to Catch Height in Every Fall (CHIEF). I love Lauren McClinton so much and Ayy Willé is my bro, so I’m glad they could help me express that.

  3. You’re known for your stage presence, what energy do you try and bring to the stage?I feel like it’s so important to connect with your audience. Whether there’s 50 people or 5000, I pride myself on making the crowd believe everything I’m saying as much as I do. It’s the perfect time to recruit Chiefs to the Catch Height family. Gotta make it count; you know?

  4. What got you started as a musician?I actually started by playing drums and singing in church. I didn’t even know I wanted to write and create my own music until my senior year in high school. My bro Roger was putting me on Kendrick Lamar, Big KRIT, J Cole, etc. and it just inspired me so much I dropped my first mixtape in 2011. I haven’t stopped since.

  5. If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be and why? Kendrick Lamar, easily! He’s the greatest to do it. I have to add Musiq Soulchild and Drake. They’re very goat-like as well.

  6. Musically, what can we expect going forward from you? Do you have any big plans in the near future or are you going to take some time to relax before starting on a new project?2020 you can expect a lot more music from the Chief and squad! We’ve got a lot of ammo tucked in the vault.
