Clover Jamez Releases Debut Album, "wildcard"
By Casey Willis
After dropping multiple singles in 2020 and 2021, emerging hip-hop/R&B artist and producer Clover Jamez has begun to fast-track himself to the top of the growing Nashville music scene with his new album Wildcard. For existing and new fans alike, the new project meshes the familiarity of Clover Jamez’s clever bars and themes with a refreshing appearance of several vocally driven tracks.
“Wildcard” begins with a groovy, melodic track titled “Foundation”, asserting the artist’s determination to branch out into an additional vibe-centric area of creative songwriting. Throughout the project, he continues to return to this evolutionary area of himself as an artist. One specific example is the third song, titled “305”, which screams for radio plays. Showing his artistic diversity, he weaves in both melodic tunes and bass-heavy rap flows, almost one after another, impressively without disturbing the flow of the album from top to bottom.
As a whole, this project displays growth as an artist without the need to stray from himself. Clover Jamez has truly shown himself as a wildcard, opening doors as he continues to progress without closing any doors from the past.
