Billy Lemos Releases Powerful New Track "Always"
By Kennedy Cook
The Midwest’s very own Billy Lemos delivers yet another powerful track, “Always” this past Friday, previewing his forthcoming debut album, “Wonder”. The Iowa-grown and Chicago-based artist/producer has long incorporated heterogeneous tunes into his work by continuously casting his musical unifications into distinctive creations. Although his roots originated in the heartland of this country, his collaborations have expanded worldwide through sampling and working with artists globally. To date, Lemos has released two EPs and a handful of singles, including artists such as Juto, Omar Apollo, Victor Internet, Maxwell Young, and more. His latest release, “Always” takes a warm & lo-fi approach to the song. The naturistic and blithe instrumental is carried by Toronto’s very own Scott Monsune. His airy vocals partner seamlessly with the lightweight tone of Lemos’ production. In an interview with Onestowatch.com, Lemos shares that he “Wanted to make something that sounded cinematic but also tasteful.” “Always” explores the day-to-day routineness of existing. This track, amongst others on his upcoming album, was made entirely remotely. On “Always”, and much of his previous work, his creations surpass the music itself to a spirit of discovery by emphasizing and supporting other artists. "Always" is out everywhere and his debut album, Wonder, is set to release this fall.
